Franchisees Help With FFA & 4-H Students Future College ExpensesCulver’s of Fond du Lac, WI – State Rd 23
When franchise owners from three Fond du Lac, WI, restaurants (Culver’s of Fond du Lac, WI – W. Pioneer Rd, Culver’s of Fond du Lac, WI – State Rd 23, Culver’s of Fond du Lac, WI – E. Johnson St) heard about a local livestock auction held by FFA and 4-H students, they knew they wanted to chip in.
Together, the three restaurants spent almost $7,000 buying a steer and a pig, and winning the highest bid on a dairy cow. Local livestock sales and auctions are an opportunity for FFA and 4-H students to show off their pigs, cattle and other livestock through an annual project. The money spent on the livestock went directly to the students to help with college expenses.
After the auction, the owners decided to donate the meat to a local food pantry. Culver’s of Fond du Lac, WI – State Rd 23 franchisee Joshua George said it was an easy decision.
“We know that there is a growing number of people in our community that don't know where their next meal is coming from,” said Joshua. “The food pantries are always looking for more donations around the holidays and with Thanksgiving around the corner, we try to do as much as we can.”
This isn’t the first time Joshua’s restaurant has donated to the community. Previously, the restaurant raised money for a multiple sclerosis run and Big Brothers Big Sisters. At their next fundraiser, the restaurant will sell the new Curdis plush with all proceeds going to a local FFA chapter.
According to Joshua, it’s just another means to creating a better community and a better tomorrow.
